This sport is becoming more and more popular and well liked by the ladies in Singapore, just what is so great about pole dancing?  Besides the cardiovascular treats that you are into when turning and spinning around, pole dancing is actually a very muscle intensive training.  This comes in when you start to do inversions and also more tricks on the pole.

Beginners

Many ladies are sceptical about picking up this sport.  They are worried that they will be injured and it is painful to slide and do tricks on the pole.  Indeed, nothing is easy, remember the day when you first rode a bicycle or learn to swim?  The falling and drowning moments.  This is the same, when doing your first inversion, I am sure there are times where you cannot go up, and you just keep trying and trying.  This sport is not just about strength and core, of course, with that it is easier to train the tricks.  But it is a lot about skills and using logic to execute the tricks.  Many people simply hop on to the pole and start forcing themselves to do all kinds of act.  That should not be the way, when learning and executing a new trick, you should always see the demonstration done by the instructor.  After that, practice it with both feet on the ground first.  Think through the techniques and steps before really doing the full sequence.

Types of classes Available

Some schools offer pole as a sports and gymnastic style, focusing more on the atheletics aspect of the sport.  There are some which breaks their class into teaching some tricks first, and followed by doing a sequence to a music.  These classes not only allow students to practice the moves, but at the same time, a purpose to carry out the tricks.  For ladies, they also feel a sense of achievement to be able to dance a routine and perform for that special someone.

Choreography Pole Class

Choreography pole teaches the students how to chose the music to dance to and create a sequence to suit the music.  This can include floor work and combinations of tricks.  It is not easy to do up a sequence if you are unsure about the beats and the moves to come with it.  Pole Choreography classes are good for students who are more advanced in their tricks, you need to be able to execute a lot of tricks in order to do up a full sequence of dance with tricks.

When we think of pole dancing we think of Hot Sexy ladies wearing exotic clothes doing something sensual, but these days, pole dancing has taken its turn.  In fact some of the dance schools offer lyrical dance classes which goes for the classical music and more sentimental songs for their routines.  At the same time focusing more on the core movements and executing the tricks slowly rather than just using momentum.

You can have all the might in the world but not be able to do a graceful act on the pole.  Yes, pole dance need a lot of flexibility if you ultimately want to look good on the pole.  Therefore the basis of stretching is very important.  Stretching classes can also help to improve your posture and overall outlook.  It also helps to prevent your body from being injury prone as your joints are more relaxed.

Rock and Roll Pole

Pole is very much related to ROCK AND ROLL Music, and having more distinct beats in rock and roll music, many dancers will chose rock and roll music for their dance routine.  Rock and Roll pole will include more sensual and sexy moves.  However, it does not mean that it is easier than any other pole classes.  Doing floor work can be rather tiring as well.  There is a lot of flipping and turning tumbling.

These days even male are interested in pole dancing.  In India, this is infact a sport for guys, it is called Mallkhamb which means ” wrestling the pole”.  The sport of Mallkhamb has athletes climb up a wooden pole, 55 cm in diameter,at the base, and 35, at the top, and perform various poses and feats. The pole is most often made of teak, because of its sturdiness, and before exercises begin, it’s rubbed with castor oil, to prevent friction.  This is not an easy chore.  The male pole classes is also equally tough as compared to gym work.  Pole works actually requires the energy for atheletes to be able to carry oneself weight up the pole and imagine for a guy who can weigh about 140 pounds.  This is no joke!
