Another challenging race by Fone sports. The race is set in Kayu Aro nearest Airport town is Padang. Padang to Singapore is actually only 1 and half hour of plane flight as it is located on Sumatra island. However, there are only limited number of Scoot flights direct from Singapore to Padang, as such transiting in KL is the main option I have as flights are more frequent from KL.

Putting up this post because a lot of independent pole studios have closed down end of 2025- early 2026. Independent pole practice studios started to sprout up just before and during Covid. These studios provide really accessible practice sessions for pole learners. However, due to the increase in rentals in Singapore, many of them find it very hard to sustain running the studio and have to be forced to close down.

Originally, I did not want to join this race because of the 100km in Hong Kong, I thought I would not be in the best state to clock a good timing. However, coach Steven Quek said to form a team of veteran ladies, and in order not to disappoint, I decided to just go and try my best.

Signed up this race because I was going back to Taiwan and thought maybe I just search for one race to join also. This time back to Taipei was also to settle some of my Grand mother’s stuff after she passed away 3 years ago and also visit the relatives who are all getting sick.

The last 100 was in 2023 with Joey and it was a great shock for me because the terrain was not expected at the Phitsanoulok Kheknoi trail. But I must say we did have a time of our lives and once again I am humbled by Joey’s power in trail. Joining the Hong Kong 100 is a personal so called Bucket list. Deep inside I was hoping to get one trophy out from this trail as they do reward runners below 24 hours with Gold Silver or Bronze man trophy.

Was called on to join this race with the Out In SG group whom I got to know from the Singapore Front Runners club. I did not even know who were my team members except for Andrew, who I did a couple of long ultras with back in the covid days. Paul, the team leader, signed for us first to create the team. The fees was $230 for one team of 5 where one member has to be a lady.

I did the qualifying in July, with a mind full of Ironman I really was not giving a good qualifying try on this. In fact, I woke up late and started around 08:30 am with only slow 5 rounds in the bag. Maybe I was getting fatigue about running in MR or maybe its just me getting tired of running.

To be honest, I really do not know what the CIDB stand for, but upon checking up the AI I got this answer Construction Industry Development Board in Malaysia. The race was held on 14th Dec on a Sunday at Putrajaya, a new area for the government offices in Malaysia, the nearest hotel there was Dorsett Putrajaya.

This year the Terry Fox run took place on 30th Nov at the East Coast Park Angsana Green. They had the 10km and 5km non competitive run. I had missed running for this event the last year and this year, I decided to just participate it alone.

Seems like I have been joining this run with Siew Ling ever since we started the Siew Ling special support crew. This year the Run for Inclusion or RFI is a by invite only activity, organisers probably want to keep it a cosy affair with the Running Hour family.
