The Desaru half marathon can be found on the checkpoint asia portal, it is organised by . It is held on 2 Mar at the city side of Desaru which is not usual as most races come up to be near the beach.
Joining the MR 25 group is to motivate me to keep going for faster speed and achieve Boston qualifying. To speak the truth, I am really not up to the mark in the group because they are really fast.
The title is in Mandarin as this was done in Taiwan, my home land. I have never been to this place before despite being in Taiwan many times. This time, we happen to return because of my Grandmother’s one year death anniversary, and there were some rites to be done.
The Kheknoi Ultra Trail takes place in Kheknoi Hmong village, Thailand Phitsanoulok. Actually the whole race takes you through the Phitsanoulok area and also to the Petchabun area. Not the usuals for tourists who visits Thailand for the shopping and food in Bangkok, Phuket and Chiangmai.
Joining the MR 25 Ultramarathon was not something on my mind, although I am a member of the group. I don’t know what got me into doing this 10 Km swim but maybe I felt, its high time I do something crazy again before I cannot ( always so pessimistic isn’t it). Way before signing up, I had done 2 times of 10 Km swims at home ground Sentosa Island. To speak the truth, completion is not a problem ( ahem) but within a specific time, that is something. For all Oceanman 10KM, the swim must be done in 4 hr 30 min, to be considered as completed the race. Usually there is a half way 3 hour bench mark at the 6km point, this is where organisers will fish out the “slow” bunch.
I balloted for New York marathon since 2020, 2022 when the results for 2023 ballot came out and I lost it, I was thinking maybe I should just do charity or buy a slot from the tour organisers. But just a few weeks after the ballot results were out, I received an e mail saying that if I purchase the guaranteed virtual slot for 2023 at a higher price, the physical slot for 2024 will be secured.
The pacing program was organised by the Running Department. This running group has been in Singapore for quite sometime, but I never joined them namely because the members are all pretty young.
