Pole Dancing in Taipei, Dazzling Pole Studio

First time came here in 2016, when I was back here for a marathon in San zhi , Taipei, as usual in the winter cold.  Dazzling is a studio ran by very professional teachers and I must say the students are no joke either, though the studio is small and sometimes the number of students are few, many of them are quite advanced level themselves.

The original studio was nearer to Taipei Station, I tot it was much larger than the one now, this current studio is near to the Zhong Shan Elementary School Station ( Yellow Line).  Just beside the 7-11 and on the first floor near to the main road.  The waiting area is small and reception together, sometimes the class is divided to two by a curtain.  There is a private toilet for changing.  For full information: https://www.dzlpolestudio.com/

Their facebook has more updates on daily and weekly activities.  https://www.facebook.com/dazzlingcrew/

The teaching crew all have splendid credentials and is a young bunch.  There are also male teachers for the guys out there interested in picking up aerial sports.  Pole dancing has became quite a scene these days, it is a fast way to tone up and muscle up.  I could feel the difference when I do it twice a week.  For those who like a bit of fun and technicality in their work out , this sport will be a good pickup.  For runners, it is good in the sense it helps to expand, and stretch your body also get to use the parts of the body that is hardly being used.  Best of all it helps to develop a strong core which, if you are doing endurance running, a strong core is important to keep the running form good.

Facilities

The school itself is on the ground floor.  Very easy to spot, but you need to use the side door within the building itself to get in.  There is a small sofa area and a small reception table.  Students can chose to pay by per class or in packages or a debit card.  The pricing table can be found in their website.

There is only one toilet within the school for changing mostly,  there are also aircon facilities for cold and hot weather.  Water dispenser is also available.  You will need to bring your own grip aids like Dry Hands or Chalk.  The poles they use are competition requirements.  45mm chrome, X pole, there are no brass or other types of poles.  The poles can be static or spinning depending on the class that you are taking.

There are also other classes such as aerial art ( silk and hoop), conditioning classes like aerial yoga, stretching, inversions and flips are also taught here.  There are male teachers here which is an advantage as they are stronger and can help to hold you when you are falling, another good point is for the male students, whom they will more understand what their limitations and needs are.

End Note

Personally, I feel that the pole art scene here in Taiwan especially other regions, are not has popular and hot topic as in Singapore.  Maybe because pole dance in the past in Taiwan is actually quite some sleazy job.  Maybe that stigma has not changed.  But I do enjoy the cosy atmosphere here and most of the students are very very young , usually they branch out from physical education schools or from gymnastics!

Do pop by this school if you are coming to Taipei!
