Mission Impossible 10k Swim Feat Katie Sullivan

So this time round we did a bigger scale operations.  Mainly because Katie, one of our swimmers, is going back to UK as her husband got repatriated.

I decided to call this Mission Impossible 10K swim.  She missed the last time round I did with Oswald and Jo.  We decided to do it on May day.  On a Monday, I got the logistics ready although, I was not sure about the route.  But I kinda have something in mind because its just so familiar swimming the whole stretch of Sentosa.  Its been two years now and you kinda know which time of the year , what kind of winds there are, when there will be bugs etc etc.

Getting the Folks

Richard suggested that we start from Siloso due to the free carpark.  This time round we have more people joining us, because we make it that those who want can just come and do any distance they want but we will go the max of 10K.  Some just join in for fun and some finished through the whole ten.  Was glad to see majority like Danny, Jimmy and wife Ping, and the usual suspects staying through.  New folks like Larry, Boon tee also joined in the fun.  We took many pictures, the first stop was at Tanjong Beach then to the island.

Happy At Pulau Palawan

This is the point where Richard and Larry volunteer to go to Siloso our check point to get more supplies of food stuff and drinks.  I brought a cambro of drinks.  I didnt bring a lot of food as I usually do not eat a lot when I am doing long distances.  But the banana is definitely a must. I had baked a cake the day before and brought it along.  Most of the folks enjoyed it.

Trying to be sexy

This time round I guess it was the camaraderie of the group that makes it more fun.  Guess it is always fun to have more people doing things together.  Somehow I didnt feel as tired as the first time. But swimming in Sentosa is getting a bit boring though it is really one of the nicest place in Singapore.  The water is also somewhat cleaner than East Coast Park.

I am looking forward to the next long swim , this year, I intend to do a real oceanman this year since borders have been opened.  Will keep posted.
