I did not have the intention to join this race, but my RAC pacer group leader, Pinzheng initiated to have all of us go for the selection and hopefully we get to pace T60 again. Unfortunately, after the pacer selection, Soo did not managed to get into the pacer job while the 3 of us all in different groups. Zhuocheng decided to take 21k 2hr job , Pinzheng got the 60 min 10km. While I got into the 70min 10km.

Training
10 km training commitment is less demanding, this time the bosses are 3 guys, Gideon, Jeremy and Alvin. Over a span of six week including the race week, we meet on Wednesdays and Saturdays for training together. The Wednesday ones were more like the trainings to ensure your endurance while Saturday is more for group coordination and running at the desired pace for the group.

My Group
My group consist of Sze ( the group leader ), Diana ( a first time pacer), Cindy and Cerys. We all somewhat have the experience of pacing only for Diana , its her first, she is also our Media manager as she loves to take pictures and videos. We also met outside for dinner once and it was fun getting to know each other. Me, Cindy and especially Sze are drinkers so we also went for happy hour after one run.

Race Day
The Race day was met with a Cat 1 situation and we had out race postponed by 1 hour. I originally wanted to ride to the race site but because of heavy rain, I decided to just drive and park illegally by the barrage. We were all there 2 hours before the race and we saw the 21km 15km flag off.
This time round I felt the race route was a bit too crowded but yet still manageable. We had nice time leading some folks cheering and whistling. We also had a speaker with music on to pace the folks. The route does not need any road closure, mainly on the PCN and also the barrage area. The water points were well stocked but I could see people bringing their own drinking containers to fill up the liquid. Finishing was back into the barrage, although no medals , we were given banana and hydration.

This time for Income run, there were also kids and pets category so it was really fun. As usual, the race site had a lot of booths for sustainability and educating folks about being environmentally conscious.

Many picture moments before , during and after and by 9 am I left the place. I guess I will continue to join Running Department and their runs as and when I can to keep myself motivated too!
