In 2023, when I lost the London marathon ballot for the 6th time ( 6 years!). I got so fed up and it happened to be around the Black Friday sales period, so I chanced upon the Venice Marathon Black Friday sales.

Writing back wards for all the events that happened lately. Well I still have not posted the Swim for Hope, Wizzair Venice Marathon and the Istanbul Marathon.
Planned this with Siew Ling earlier on this year when she was looking for guides to bring her to this eventful run. Usually, I just let the committee assign me the tasks they want me to do. But this time since I have been walking around with Siewling every other month, I thought maybe we should do it.

This is my second pacing stint, to speak the truth it is not as intense as the Great Eastern women one , maybe because the costume play was taken away from this one. Also for this race, we have male pacers joining in.
So I decided to redo this one, maybe I felt it is good to have more training before the marathons coming up and also partly I do not want to be the last one on the board for the qualifying.
At least I can quite safely say I wont be the last one. So I decided to go for one more round as going for the more rounds is more like it.
This year I did the qualifying on 23 Aug 2024. To speak the truth, I am not sure whether I can still qualify with just five rounds, but my speed was a little bit faster than others, so I felt that there are still some chances. The qualifying is for top 6 participants with the most rounds followed by the best timing. The six from each category will then be invited for the final show down on 27 Dec at MacRitchie.
Held on 28 July 2024 at the Ipoh Stadium, I decided to join this race mainly because of Joey. Joey, my good friend whom I did the 100Km together with in Jan, has moved back to her hometown Ipoh.
So this year joining it again, I think there is really a need to do one long ride to improve myself and keep the currency.
Having heard this race for the longest time and really wanted to try it out myself. Usually Indonesian races will not let you down especially the beautiful mountain scenery.
Was lucky enough to get a free bib for this race with the Singapore Runners Club. I only got to know about them in recent races as they rose to prominence in recent years with large membership.
Signing up this one again this year because it is cheap! Also part of me was hoping to get the “podium” last year because not many competitors and all thought it was supposed to be a walk, just like my perception.
