Rinjani 100 _ 36KM Version

Rinjani 100 is a tough, very tough race, more so in the past where there were only 50 and above categories.  It was a race that no one dare to dream unless you are at least a 450 mountain level in the ITRA Index.  There were many bloggers writing how tight and tough this race is and to finish it means only the best of the best.  The recent years saw a more manageable category of 27km and 36km where runners can enjoy the scenery of Rinjani without going through a real arduous race.

Cyberjaya Half Marathon 2025

The Singapore Front Runners at the race Budi, Bryan and me

IT all started when I started to look for races to join in this year, of course after planning all the biggies.  I started to look around for nearer races to participate like in Malaysia or Thailand.

DMT 70 Redo ( 2025)

Got dazzled this time to join this race despite I am very reluctant to go back, since I was already a survivor once.  To speak the truth, I know that it is very hard for me to complete this at 22hrs.  Best is really 24 plus, however the cut off time is stringent and not to be messed with.

Singapore Marathon 2024 ( SCMS 2024)

1st December 2024, the Singapore marathon is always the much anticipated race for the nation as it marks the year end.  Somehow, now the Sundown Marathon is no longer in action, maybe the sign up rate is low and also the transport after race can be a problem.

Ultra Trail Malaysia by UTMB (50KM)

Joining this race with Joey again.  Actually, she went to this race in 2023 and came in top ten, which is quite a feat as this race is famous for the muddy and super slippery terrain and also leeches.  Before its UTMB name, it  was known as Malaysia Mountain Trail Festival.   It was really a big mud festival because every year when I see the FB posts from people who participated, it was always very muddy, people sliding and getting injured.  That is the reason why everywhere I am not tempted to go for this race, as I am not very good with trail and not sure if I can grapple with the terrain.

Istanbul Marathon 2024 (46th Edition)

Specifically put the 46th edition because I am 46 this year , it was such a coincidence.  Sometimes, when I look back at my running adventures, I had been quite lucky in a little sense here and there.  I guess one of the more important thing to be is to be able to complete the race safely and soundly.

Was lucky again this time that although I cannot go for an Oceanman, I managed to find another marathon in the same region.  Its probably the only intercontinental race that cuts Asia to Europe.
